Reinsurance Accountant (12 Month FTC) London or Maidstone (Hybrid) £70,000 - £80,000 Benefits We're supporting a leading global insurer with the appointment of a Reinsurance Accountant on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This role sits within a specialist team responsible for reinsurance reporting, external regulatory submissions, financial controls and month-end reporting across both retail and wholesale insurance operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with insurance industry experience who enjoys technical reporting, process improvement and working closely with finance, actuarial and audit stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Own the month-end close process for reinsurance finance Analyse actual versus expected results and provide reporting commentary Deliver regulatory reporting including Solvency II and Lloyd's submissions Maintain and enhance SOX and financial controls Support external audit activity relating to reinsurance finance Review and interpret reinsurance contract structures from a financial reporting perspective Drive process improvements, automation and reporting efficiencies Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Actuarial and wider business functions Experience Required Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Insurance or reinsurance finance experience Strong month-end, reporting and financial controls background Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs and data manipulation Experience working with large data sets and manual reporting processes Solvency II and/or Lloyd's reporting experience would be highly advantageous Strong stakeholder management and communication skills What's on Offer? I’m currently partnering with a highly regarded and growing Lloyd’s market insurer to recruit a newly qualified accountant into their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone coming from an insurance audit or Lloyd’s market background who is looking to move into a broad, commercially focused role with real exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence change early in their career. The position will cover: • Oversight and review of syndicate and legal entity financial reporting • Quarterly solvency and technical provisions validation processes • Ownership of key reporting and control activities • Supporting external audit relationships • Finance transformation, process improvement and controls enhancement initiatives • Exposure to senior leadership and governance forums The business offers a collaborative and high-performing environment where employees are encouraged to contribute ideas, drive improvements and develop professionally.
