The opportunity
We are supporting a Lloyd’s market insurer seeking an experienced Lloyd’s Reporting Transformation Consultant to support the development and readiness of its financial reporting framework across two syndicates.

Working across Syndicate Accounting, Actuarial, Finance and Data teams, the consultant will take a hands-on role in building and refining Lloyd’s reporting templates, establishing data mappings and calculation logic, and implementing the reconciliations and controls required for upcoming parallel-run activity.

This is a delivery-focused assignment requiring someone who can combine strong Lloyd’s reporting knowledge with detailed data, process and control experience.

Key responsibilities
  • Build and refine Lloyd’s reporting templates across two syndicates, ensuring alignment with Lloyd’s reporting requirements.
  • Define and validate data sourcing and mappings from the general ledger and other finance, underwriting and actuarial systems.
  • Develop and clearly document the calculation logic underpinning reporting outputs.
  • Establish robust reconciliations between source data, the general ledger and reporting outputs.
  • Investigate and resolve breaks, inconsistencies and gaps across data, mappings and calculations.
  • Design and document end-user controls to ensure the completeness, accuracy and robustness of reporting templates.
  • Produce clear documentation covering data lineage, mappings, calculation methodologies, assumptions, controls and processes.
  • Work closely with Syndicate Accounting, Actuarial, Finance and Data teams to resolve issues and progress reporting readiness.
  • Support testing, validation and preparation for upcoming parallel reporting runs.
  • Identify reporting, process and control risks and provide hands-on support to resolve them.

Essential experience
  • Strong and recent Lloyd’s syndicate reporting experience.
  • Detailed understanding of Lloyd’s financial and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Experience building, redesigning or materially improving reporting templates.
  • Hands-on experience mapping data from general ledger and source systems into reporting structures.
  • Experience developing calculation logic and source-to-report reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of reporting controls, including EUCs and audit trails.
  • Experience documenting data mappings, calculations, assumptions, processes and controls.
  • Ability to interrogate data, identify reporting breaks and drive issues through to resolution.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills across Finance, Actuarial and Data teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with complex reporting workbooks.

Desirable experience
  • Experience supporting a new Lloyd’s syndicate, managing-agent transition or reporting implementation.
  • Experience preparing for or supporting parallel reporting runs.
  • Previous work within a multi-syndicate managing-agent environment.
  • Experience of finance transformation, data remediation or reporting-framework implementation.
  • Accountancy qualification or equivalent technical finance experience.

Candidate profile
The successful consultant will be technically strong, delivery-focused and comfortable working independently. This assignment requires someone willing to operate in the detail, building templates, interrogating data, documenting logic and resolving reconciliation issues, rather than solely overseeing the work of others.
